Ms. Health & Fitness Magazine.
The last month has been wildly full of excitement and adventure with lots of new opportunities that I will slowly release over the next few months. The first thing I want to talk about is this opportunity that I have with Ms. Health & Fitness; a female focused health and wellness magazine. If you know me, you know that I am extremely active, that I can’t sit still and that I have always been invested in sport. I have entered this competition to challenge the way we look at fitness and health, I want to promote out of the box thinking and provide opportunities for others to push their own abilities and limits outside the normal ‘gym’. As I say in my athlete bio, my gym is the outdoors, my weights are throwing kayaks around and loading/unloading them, my cardio is finding challenging conditions to paddle and kayaking around islands, my HIIT workouts are surfing or playing in current. All these aspects that we can focus on at the gym we can also do outside of the gym. Winning this would help me educate others on the benefits of being in green spaces and using the outdoors as a gym space, but also creates opportunities for me to sponsor younger females to get into the sport like I have.
What many of you don’t know is that I come from an elite competitive athletic background that I stopped when my post concussion symptoms became too much. Training within a gym became extremely challenging and the more challenging it became the less I was able to perform and the less results I was seeing, this led to a lack of motivation. Paddling and being in the outdoors gave me a new avenue for working out, for strength and endurance training as well and mental training, a new way to build myself up without having all the negative effects from the concussions. Over the competition I will give a bit more information about what this journey has looked like and how I got to where I am now.
Thank you all for reading and I look forward to you all voting for me. Please share with as many people as possible, the more votes the better I do.
